In a number of Jules Verne’s Voyages extraordinaires and other novels and stories, a poem is integrated in the text, either completely or partially. On this page, I reproduce these poems, discussing their origins and showing interesting translations.
There are three categories of poetry:
- Poems and songs written by Jules Verne himself
- Poems and songs written by others, and quoted explicitly
- Short songs and silly songs, often not more than a few lines
I would like to thank Jan Rychlík for his valuable contributions to these pages.
